  • Prayer Request for Embry, update Tuesday morning

    Switched to Trilogy vent (the one that he would go home on if still needed) last night. They want a couple good days on it and a good chest xray and blood gas tomorrow after the switch to it before they will lower peep again. Looking at his nutrition bc he is still not gaining and they need to increase his calories. He has gotten considerably thinner, which seemed impossible. Every little process on his elbow, shoulder, knees and ribs is visible thru his skin. Going to contact surgery about taking out PICC line since he is off all drips and doesn't need access. They want a good 5+ days on new vent, too, before moving to inpatient rehab, so looking for that to prob begin early next week. Contacting wound care again about trach stoma. The secretions are clear and they do not smell like road kill like they did for a few days. He is only moving his legs in response to some stimuli and not yet able to move them deliberately or feel much below his upper abdomen. He is using his white board to communicate when we can't read his lips. We have to wait for the PEEP (a setting on his vent) to be lowered a bit more in the coming days before he can get the speaking valve. Anxiety and withdrawal symptoms continue, but last drip was turned off yesterday, so we're hoping he will get relief soon. Thanks everyone for all your love & prayers.

    Thanks prayer warriors!!! I was feeling very discouraged about report on my eyes and teeth. As I was praying over another prayer request I saw 15 and now 16 prayers have been lifted. It only takes 2 in agreement!! I am encouraged and will continue to declare my healing Thanks for joining in agreement! Nov 1 I go back for dry eye check and May 22 for teeth.

    Released from ER. Didn't reveal anything. She goes for therapy & to see Thyroid Doctor tomorrow..

    Karen's symptoms with dizziness and nausea, continue to get worse, so Keith has taken her to the Emergency Room. Please pray that the ER Doctors will have wisdom and knowledge as to what to do and how to treat her.

  • Prayer Request for Embry, Monday Morning Update

    Continuing to wean dilaudid today. Going to take out Foley catheter again today and see if he can pee on his own since his sedation is greatly reduced. The big thing today will be his first trach change, which will be done by the surgeon. He is already really stressed about it and the stitches. Every time anyone gets near it, he's afraid it will come out or hurt. Need prayers for peace with the trach change! He has sooo much anxiety. We're praying and believing for peace for Embry today, for comfort as he continues detox from all the sedatives, for healing of his legs, for being able to wean off the vent and go home without it!
