  • Prayer Request for Embry, Tuesday morning update

    Things continue to go smoothly, relatively speaking. Embry still struggles with keeping his oxygen up and is still on high vent settings, but we've had no scary events for several days. The pressure sore on his tailbone is pretty significant and worries us, but they are watching it closely. It was literally skin and bone before, so now that the skin is broken, there is only bone. He is scheduled to have his tracheostomy some time tomorrow. Praying that is what will help him be able to be weaned down on the vent and sedation as it heals and he can then begin to move around and be awake more and able to cough the mucus out of his trach easily. He had a very busy day yesterday with PT, OT, speech therapy, wound care for pressure sore and ortho changed the dressing on his surgery incision. He was having significant pain last night after all of that, but they are quick to address it and he had a pretty restful night. Thank you for your continued prayers, love and support❤️❤️❤️

  • Prayer Request for Joe Hudson

    Joe had a kidney transplant a few months back and has had several bouts of health problems since then. This time he has been in the hospital in Louisville for some three weeks now. He needs prayer that his kidney function numbers come down, and the kidneys start working as expected. He is scheduled for a blood transfusion today, as his blood count has lowered.

    Please keep Joe and his wife, Joannie, in your prayers. Thanks!

  • Prayer Request for Embry, Sunday Morning Update

    Olivia said Embry had a good night. One desat into the 80s overnight and one this morning. He will have a bronchoscopy today to clear the mucus out of the deeper part of his lung, but the xray this morning was a little better yet than yesterday. Today is his last day on antibiotics! Will talk to ENT again in the morning about getting him on surgery schedule for Tuesday or Wednesday, hopefully. Praying it will go smoothly and be easier to wean the vent after the trach.

  • Prayer Request for Embry, Saturday Morning Update

    Embry had a pretty calm night with just a desat into the 80s lasting for a while this morning. He is scheduled to finish his antibiotics tomorrow. They flushed the chest tube again and it is draining quite a bit. This morning's chest xray was somewhat better than yesterday's. He's almost up to full feeds via G-tube. Still puffy in places and still working to heal the pressure sore on his tiny, bony little excuse for a butt. Praying for a calm weekend with no major issues so he can make it to Monday before next bronch and hopefully get his trach next Tuesday or Wednesday.

    Hallelujah! We had an uneventful night. Already had his bronch this morning and we're just praying for more smooth sailing so he can get his trach next week. Almost weaned off the nitric oxide and back on G-tube feeds.

    After 3 emergency events yesterday, we had a calm night. We finally were able to settle in for a little sleep at 12:30 this morning. They are using ultrasound to try to place a new central line this morning. Will update more after rounds! Thanks for all your love and prayers, everyone
