  • Prayer Request for Embry, Tuesday night update..miracle needed!!

    So, a pulmonologist came to talk to Riley, Blake, and Olivia today and told them that Embry will have to go home with a trach AND ON A VENT! To say that the kids flipped out is an understatement after they got a bomb that like that dropped on them. No one has ever even mentioned anything about him needing a vent to go home. I told Riley that is probably not true, but we will not accept it unless it comes to pass. For now, we are believing that he will not need the vent after he gets his trach and it heals and he can start weaning off the vent. I texted his surgeon who then went up to the room to talk to the kids and I was on speaker phone with them. He is going to talk to the PICU Drs and we are going to try to get a meeting set up with the PICU drs, the ENT (who will do the tracheostomy), the pulmonologist and him, the orthopedic surgeon, all together with us at once. We're praying that the pulmonologist is wrong and that the trach will help him get well and he will be able to come off the vent. We need a miracle!!!

  • Prayer Request for My Niece Kendall

    Please keep Kendall in prayer. She is approx.. 8 months pregnant and during a routine exam today, they believe there is an issue with the heart. She is headed to Boston tomorrow for a detailed ultrasound
    This is baby # 5.

    There’s been a few dreams that have been relevant. Please pray for the enemy to be defeated in EVERY WAY

    Riley said Embry had a restless night, but nothing major happened. Just tried turning epi off again as he has to be off it to have his tracheostomy. Waiting on ENT consult today and pulmonology for more info on trach with the vent.

  • Prayer Request for Embry, Saturday update

    They are getting ready for another bronchoscopy on Embry right now. He's been struggling all night and all day to keep his oxygen up above 90. Hopefully, they will get a lot of mucus out again bc he's really having a hard time. We need a miracle. We have been in the same cycle for 3 weeks now and he's just miserable. It's taking its toll on everyone and he's just pitiful.

  • Prayer Request for Embry, Thursday afternoon update

    Embry is running a low grade fever this afternoon and his chest xray showed just a little bit of fluid on his right lung. They've made adjustments to the vent today to make him more comfortable and his oxygen sats are good. Hopefully nothing serious brewing.

    Embry had another quiet night. They are taking him off the paralytic today, weaning some meds, weaning the vent very slowly, and restarting G-tube feeds, all as he tolerates them. Praying for more days and nights like the last 2!!

    Karen is still in A-Fib this morning. They are scheduling a Cardioversion, which is a medical procedure using quick, low energy shocks to restore regular heart beat. This is to be done around one o'clock. In addition to this, she is having other medical issues this morning. Please pray the shock treatments will be successful and they will get to the bottom of her other problems. Thanks!

  • Prayer Request for My brother Bill Newman

    Bill is being treated for Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer. After 40 chemo treatments last year, the stem cell biopsy showed 16% cancer cells in his blood so he is receiving a stem cell transplant today at 9qs8fx 4:30pm at IU/Indy. Please agree with me this procedure be 100% effective. Also there is a 30 day isolation period whether there or at home I’m not sure. Pray for this time period to be endurable and peaceful.
