Jun 28, 2023 - 10 months agoWe were finally able to get Embry in the wheelchair again today and he took a ride all around the 7th floor. He might get to go outside in it tomorrow if the weather is OK and the smoke situation improves! He really needed this and he had a great time pranking as many people as possible

Prayer Request for Update on Embry
Jun 27, 2023 - 10 months agoEmbry got a visit from Winnie the therapy dog again today, he pranked his nurse, Coral, and then he got to go for a short bed ride around the floor. He's been having a rough time coping with being stuck in his bed all the time and not knowing when he will be able to move his legs again, when he will get to go home, and when he will see his friends and extended family again. This is day 96. Niiiinnneeetttyyyy siiiixxx days inside the walls of this hospital. Ninety six days since he walked in here a happy, healthy, 12 year old boy the week before spring break. We missed all of spring and now he's missing summer break. He missed his spring concert (he plays xylophone), he missed Easter, Memorial Day, his fine arts trip to Holiday World, the end of the school year... and so many other things. He occasionally gets overwhelmed and will say, "I can't do this anymore." It's overwhelming as an adult who gets to go home a couple of days a week. I can't begin to imagine what is like for a child who has spent 96 days here, with a lot of pain, and a lot of questions that we still can't answer. It is heart-breaking. We're still waiting for the pressure wound to heal enough to go to inpatient rehab and to be able to go on wheelchair rides again, possibly even outside sometime. Please pray for our precious boy.

Prayer Request for Rohan
Jun 26, 2023 - 10 months agoMy very dear friend, who is also a pastor in Memphis, fell from a ladder at the church and sustained multiple broken bones and both lungs collapsed. He had surgery and is on a ventilator. But is breathing on his own. Also, his white blood cell count is elevated. And they are not sure why. So please pray for his lungs and his white blood cell count to be in normal range.
He has a wife and young children. Some of you may remember when he came to preach here at Oak Hill.

Prayer Request for Sienna
Jun 15, 2023 - 11 months agoPlease keep my friend Sienna in your prayers. She was visiting family in LA and was attacked by their dog. She is currently going through her second surgery. Praise God, when attacked, she automatically threw her arm up to protect her face and neck. The dog dragged her all over the house and she ended up with a broken arm, a broken leg, plus two mauled feet. Pray for her complete, and quick, recovery. Thanks! Valerie Cole
