The Hem of His Garment

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes we are healed.”Isaiah 53:5 KJV

God’s will is always to heal the sick. The Bible teaches that God’s people perish for lack of truth and knowledge. A message recently on Divine Healing and Uncovering Unbelief spoke to me so deeply, that I started to ask the Lord to really open up the full meaning of healing and how to deal with the problem of unbelief. Why do so many Christians have a hard time believing the amazing truth of divine healing? Let’s look at the faith of the woman with the issue of blood. This woman tried many physicians for 12 years, yet her condition continued to worsen so she went to Jesus and the crowd tried to restrain her. I can imagine she whispered these words through her pain: “Touching Jesus is all that matters!” She knew she needed to touch Jesus and that if she did not, she was likely not to be well again. She became determined! She pushed through the crowd and maybe even crawled underneath them to get to Him; however, she did it, she touched the hem of His garment!

Luke 8:43-48 KJV: “Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto Him, before all the people for what cause she had touched Him, and how she was healed immediately. And He said unto her daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole. Go in peace.”

Can you image bleeding for 12 years and then receiving an instant healing? It came by her faith of believing that if she could just simply touch Him. You can see by her actions there was no unbelief in her. In that day, she really wasn’t able to know Jesus the way that we are able to know Him.  She had to have heard about Him and what He was able to do; she already knew that no other doctor could heal her. We can do the same exact thing; we have the right to touch Him, be healed, and all we have to do is believe. The Jesus who saved us is the same Jesus who heals!

In Isaiah 53:5, it plainly tells us that by His stripes we are healed. We have to grab hold of this word, that it is the heart of Jesus to heal. Will we be the people who overcome the unbelief and know this truth in the word? Healing will come when you press in and believe! This woman pressed in and believed. She did not allow a crowd to stop her, she believed if she could just touched the hem of His garment she would receive her healing – she pressed in, she touched it and she received! Here we have seen the evidence of the healing power of God in His word and it is available to all. Acts 10:34 KJV says; “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, “Of a truth I perceive that GOD is no respecter of person.” Listen to those words: God is truly no respecter of people and His will is to heal you as much as the next person! He desires to heal you the same as He healed the woman in Luke chapter 8. If you need a touch from the Lord right now press in and believe and receive your healing today! If you need him to help your unbelief in this area, read His word and get His promises deep in your heart because at one point or another we all will need His healing touch in our life.

Pray This…

Father, as your word says, help my unbelief, and allow that mustard-seed-faith to bloom into believing so that I no longer doubt your promise. I know I can ask of you anything; I know you are my divine healer! I know now your will is to heal me! As I read, study your word and pray, grow my faith in your healing power!IN JESUS NAME! AMEN!
